Vidbir 2022

Submissions for Ukraine’s National Final, Vidbir, are officially open! The window will be open from December 14 until January 10 inclusive. For artists wanting to represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2022, now is their chance to submit songs they wish to showcase.

Interested individuals can find rules of participation here and can submit their application here. Vidbir 2022 will take place in February and both the public and a jury will decide the winner.

Ukraine at Eurovision

At Eurovision, Ukraine holds a stunning feat, as they are the only country that has failed to qualify since the semi-finals were introduced in 2004.

Ukraine is arguably one of the greatest countries, if not the greatest country to participate in Eurovision in the 21st century, as year upon year, they produce entries that are consistently of a high quality.

At Eurovision 2021, electro-folk band, Go_A, placed 5th in the Grand Final. However, their success didn’t stop there. “Shum” charted in the Spotify Global Viral Top 50 and was the first Ukrainian-language song to enter the billboard charts. The future looks bright for new Ukrainian artists, and 2022 beckons the following question – who will follow in Go_A’s footsteps?

I'm a dedicated Eurovision fan and new ESCXTRA contributor from the other side of the globe in Australia. Even though I'm fairly new to Eurovision, seeing as I was first introduced to it in 2016, this hasn't stopped me from looking back on all the previous years and loving the contest more and more.
