Deadline reports that American Song Contest has been postponed and the Grand Final is now scheduled to be on Monday, May 9th. The Eurovision Song Contest 2022 takes place from May 10th to 14th.
American Song Contest was set to premiere on Monday 21st of February. The contest will air for eight weeks and now the Grand Final is scheduled for May 9th. All shows will be aired on consecutive Mondays and the first show is set to be aired on March 21st. The live competition consists of three rounds as the acts compete in a series of Qualifying Rounds, followed by the Semi Finals and the ultimate Grand Final.
All fifty states in the USA will take part, as well as Washington D.C. as a district. Furthermore, five U.S. territories will also be taking part. They are American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam and Puerto Rico. More details have yet to be released and we still don’t know when – or if – the participating states and territories will present their entries prior to the show. We also await on news of which US city with host the show.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2022 will take place from May 10th, when the first semifinal airs, to May 14th, when the grand final is being broadcasted from Turin.
