Teleradio Moldova have confirmed the format of the live audition rounds for Selecţia Naţională 2022, their national final to select their Eurovision entry for 2022.
The broadcaster has chosen to go with the ‘Audieri Live’ format. This will judge on the song and the singers vocals alone, without any focus on the stage performance. This format will take place tomorrow, the 29th January. There are 29 entries taking part, down from the 30 originally announced, after Misskatylove withdrew on January 25. All of the 28 artists (Sasha Bognibov has two competing entries) selected for the national final will perform their songs over the course of three hours from 13:00 to 16:00 CET. The songs will be judged by an expert jury, who will decide the results once all artists have performed.
The results of the audition rounds will be announced the same day on Moldova 1 at approximately 18:00 CET, during the evening news.

Listen to the entries
You can listen to all the songs on eurovision.md. Among the artists are Zdob și Zdub, who have represented Moldova twice in the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2005 they represented the country with “Boonika bate doba” and finished sixth in the final. They returned in 2011, where they finished 12th with “So Lucky”.
Once the audition rounds have completed, the jury will choose whether to internally select one of the entries, or advance a certain number of entries to an official national final. Should the latter be the case, the final is planned for March 5th 2022.
(UPDATE)
Shortly after the publishing of this article, TRM decided to cancel all plans for a national final. The entry will now be selected after the audition rounds as part of an internal selection.
