New Music Friday – this week with Manizha, Jeangu Macrooy, Tanxugueiras & Rayden and more!

Ten of the best new songs from Eurovision artists!

Gjon’s Tears – ‘Silhouette’

New year, new Gjon’s Tears, as Switzerland’s Eurovision 2020 and 2021 representative finally released his first solo single since ‘Tout L’univers‘. In ‘Silhouette; we are reminded just why he is a Marcel Bezençon Award winner and finished on the podium in 2021. A stirring piano ballad with all of Gjon’s emotional fragility and vocal range.

Katerine Duska – ‘Of Time’

Already we saw a darker side to Greece’s 2018 representative on ‘Call Me Nyx‘. Now Katerine Duska is back with part 1 of Nyx’ Epilogue in ‘Of Time’. Once more, Katerine teams up with writing partner, David Sneddon. Together they have created a deep mood in this mid-tempo power anthem. As it asks the important question – “are we out of time?”. Along with the single comes a music video directed and produced by Elle Terse and Alexis Kanakis. Which focuses on Katerine in the staring role, as she sits counting down the time, pondering how that question has meaning to life’s struggles and our place in it. Before showing her fight in the crescendo of interpretive dance and heartfelt vocals.

Victor Crone – ‘Wind In My Sails’

Certainly on stranger to a weather metaphor, Estonia’s 2019 Eurovision representative is no longer in stormy, troubled waters on new single, ‘Wind In My Sails’. In fact, Victor is setting sail on the high seas of love. This co-written track speaks to his softer, emotional side in this country-tinged guitar anthem. With a catchy, toe-tapping chorus, loaded with oceanic references, Victor pours out all his feelings in this love letter through song. Meanwhile he still has an equally deep attachment to Eesti Laul. Many will have spotted his name on the writing credits for Stig Rästa’s comeback entry, ‘Interstellar‘.
