You know, I am definitely not on board with this entire sad girl singing sad songs trend that we’re seeing globally and in Eurovision… but for Andrea, I quite like what she’s doing. This is a sad girl song, but it’s more a throwback to a (B-side) of a weird Avril Lavigne meets Christina Aguilera mash up, which they’ve tried to modernise and bring into the 2020s. Vocally I enjoy what Andrea is doing and her choices in how she delivers this actually work for me. It’s a bit of a throwback and I’m quite on board here! Not a strong selection, but the best chance they’ve got… I feel.

I have to admit, North Macedonia’s selection has completely been off my radar this Eurovision season (and the ones before that, too, if we’re being honest). Catching up on the selection made me go through many emotions, not all of them positive, so “Circles” was actually a nice surprise. Andrea has a voice that really captures you from the first second, which is probably one of the biggest advantages to this song. The beat is pretty basic, even bordering on dated, but a nice melody compensates for that a little. I don’t have very strong feelings about this song, but if it wins, it might just do better than “Here I Stand.” Might.
