The Israeli broadcaster Kan has announced that Marvin Dietmann will serve as the artistic director for Michael Ben-David’s entry in Turin. The official video for “I.M” is in production as well.
The artistic director Marvin Dietmann has worked with several delegations over the past years. His work include Conchita Wurst’s winning performance in 2014. At the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 he worked as the deputy contest producer and the viewing room director. Now he has been assigned as the artistic director for Israel’s performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.
On their Facebook group, the broadcaster addressed the recent rumours on Michael Ben-David’s participation at the contest. Kan announced that the official video for Michael Ben-David’s entry is in production and there are no plans for him to withdraw from the contest. The broadcaster Kan and the television channel Reshet 13 are working together on the production of the song and the performance. Reshet 13 broadcaster The X Factor Israel, which was used as the selection method for the country in 2021. Michael Ben-David won the selection with the song “I.M” and will represent the country in Turin.
Israel will compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on May 12th. Michael Ben-David will perform on the first half of the show. Israel has qualified to the final every year since 2015.
