Circus Mircus will represent Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with “Lock Me In”. Today the official music video for the song was released.
The music video for the entry was also supposed to premiere in early March, but the plan was changed due to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine. Today the music video was released on the official YouTube channel of the contest.
Circus Mircus describe themselves as circus academy dropouts and consider themselves the worst in the circus crew. In their music, they try to neglect as many of the common frameworks as potentially possible. The band was formed in late 2020 and released songs under curious titles such as “The Ode to Bishkek Stone” and “Weather Support”.
Emilia Sandquist, who is part of the Sacha Jean Baptiste group, will be directing the performance in Turin. Previously Sacha Jean Baptiste has been the staging director for Georgia’s Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz, Nina Sublatti and Tamara Gachechiladze. In 2021, Emilia directed Tornike Kipiani’s performance in Rotterdam.
At the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Georgia will compete on the second semi-final on May 12th. Circus Mircus will be performing as the fifth act of the night.
