Turin 2022🇮🇹 Italy

Eurovision Village 2022 schedule announced

The Eurovision Village is officially back for another edition in 2022 – in Turin, Italy! The Fondazione per la Cultura Torino will organise the event, and they have promised that a full program of events will be available at the end of April! However, more details have recently come to light. In short, it will span for 8 days, showcase over 200 artists and culminate in 40 hours of shows.

About the Eurovision Village

The Eurovision Village, fondly known as the Eurovillage, has, in previous years, been a famous spot for Eurovision fans to enjoy everything that the particular host city has to offer. This has previously involved the opportunity to watch the Eurovision artists themselves perform – for free! In fact, large screens will also be set up so that visitors can watch a live broadcast of the shows. This includes both Semi-Finals and the Grand Final of the 2022 Eurovison Song Contest. However, it also allows artists, particularly those in their home country or city, to showcase their talents to world. Let’s see what Italy has in store for us. After COVID-19 forced the 2021 Eurovision Village to go virtual, fans will clearly welcome the return of the much-loved tradition in person.

The 2022 edition

Earlier this week, many details were revealed about the Eurovision Village in 2022, which is set to take place in the Parco del Valentino. This location is Turin’s oldest, and second-largest public park. It first opened in 1856, and boasts an impressive 50.5 hectares. Come May, it will be filled up by over 20,000 Eurovision fans.

It is predominantly open to anyone who wishes to immerse themselves in the madness that is Eurovision week! Whether you are a Eurovision newbie, or a hardcore Eurofan, organisers have promised an atmosphere to remember.

The Deputy Mayor for Culture, Rosanna Purchia, was full of praise and excitement about the Eurovision village boosting the city of Turin:

“We want to promote the strong artistic vocation of the city to liven up and turn the lights on our territory, in the name of peace. The voice of the youth will be the symbol of hope in our future”.
