ESCXTRA.com are live for day 5 of rehearsals ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 taking place at the Pala Olimpico in Turin, Italy!
It’s time for the second rehearsals for the majority of the artists in the first semi-final! The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Albania, Latvia, Lithuania, Switzerland, Slovenia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Moldova, Portugal, Croatia, Denmark, Austria and Greece.
The latest artist to rehearse is Monika Liu from Lithuania who is performing the song ”Sentimentai”.

Rehearsal review
Stage presentation
Monika is alone on stage for her performance of Sentimentai. There are some really smart cinematographic camera cuts that are being used to show her personality, and truly Monika exudes class. Using a mirror camera effect, they duplicate Monika performing during the chorus which helps fill the large stage.
The dark, immobile kinetic sun in the background is noticeable throughout, however.
Costumes and styling
Monika Liu wears a truly gorgeous sparkly dress, extremely similar to the one from Pabandom iš naujo but with added diamantes! The diamonds catch the camera and sparkle at the same time as the lights in the background, it’s a very effective glow-up for this outfit.
The whole styling of this entry is classy, there’s no denying this.
Vocal quality
Every single run-through has had a very controlled, pitch-perfect vocal. There are absolutely no concerns about Monika’s ability to sing this entry.
Overall impression
We’re really impressed by how classy this entry comes across on screen but at times it does feel a little empty due to the static kinetic sun element of the stage. We would have loved to see how Lithuania planned to use this.
All that being said, Monika is a superb performer and she has coped incredibly well with the changes that have needed to be made to this performance.
