Zelenskyy: “We hope to one day host in Ukrainian Mariupol”

In his statement, President Zelensky speaks of his pride of the Ukrainian victory in Turin. “Stefania” won the contest with a whopping 631 points. Of those, 439 came from the televoters, with 192 from the juries. It is Ukraine’s third victory in the contest, following Ruslana in 2004 and Jamala in 2016. According to Zelensky, it won’t be the last.

Below, you can find a translation of Zelenskyy’s statement:

Our courage impresses the world, our music conquers Europe! Next year, Ukraine will host Eurovision.

For the third time in its history. And as I believe: Not the last. We will do our utmost to one day host the participants and visitors of Eurovision in Ukrainian Mariupol. Free, peaceful and rebuilt!

Thank you for winning, Kalush Orchestra, and everyone who voted for us!

I am sure that our victorious chord in the battle with the enemy is approaching.

Slava Ukraini!
