Last month the national Portuguese broadcaster announced the Semi-Final allocation for the artists competing in Festival da Canção 2025. Now RTP has confirmed the running orders for both Semi-Finals ahead of the live shows which begin this Saturday.

The order that the twenty artists will compete in across the two Semi-Finals of Festival da Canção 2025 are as follows:
Semi-Final 1
- Xico Gaiato – ‘Ai Senhor’
- Rita Sampaio – ‘Voltas’
- Du Nothin – ‘Sobre Nós’
- Marco Rodrigues – ‘A Minha Casa’
- Margarida Campelo – ‘Eu sei que o amor’
- JOSH – ‘Tristeza’
- Capital da Bulgária – ‘Lisboa’
- Bluay – ‘Ninguém’
- Jéssica Pina – ‘Calafrio’
- Peculiar – ‘Adamastor’
Semi-Final 2
- A Cantadeira – ‘Responso à Mulher’

- Emmy Curl – ‘Rapsódia da Paz’

Later this month, the live shows of Festival da Canção 2025 will air on RTP1. The two Semi-Finals will take place on February 22 and March 1. During the Semi-Finals there will be two voting rounds. The combined votes of the jury and public will choose five acts from each to advance to the Grand Final. In the second round, voting lines will re-open and viewers will be able to advance one wildcard in each Semi-Final. Thus, a total of twelve acts will participate in the Grand Final. The Grand Final will conclude on March 8 with the winner being determined by 50% jury voting and 50% public voting.
Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest
Out of 55 participations to date, Portugal has won the Eurovision Song Contest only once – in 2017 with Salvador Sobral’s ‘Amar pelos dois‘. To this day, it holds the record for the most points in the history of the contest with 758. Their next best result was with ‘O meu coração não tem cor‘ by Lúcia Moniz back in 1996, which finished in sixth place. Currently, the Iberian nation is enjoying a run of four qualifications in a row.
Earlier this year, Iolanda won Festival da Canção 2024 with ‘Grito’. During the Malmö contest, ‘Grito’ achieved 10th place in the Grand Final with 152 points. Thus, becoming only their third top 10 placing this century.
