Today, Claude has officially released his entry, ‘C’est La Vie’ that will represent The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland this May.
Claude says ‘C’est La Vie’ to Eurovision 2025
Claude emerged as the choice from 331 song submissions received by AVROTROS. A selection committee, including Eurovision commentator Cornald Maas and singer Jaap Reesema, made the final decision, describing the entry as “a meaningful, connecting, and hit-sensitive song with international appeal.” Today, ‘C’est La Vie’ and its music video premiered on streaming, radio and the Eurovision YouTube channel simultaneously,
“C’est La Vie’ is a tribute to a parent and for me that’s my mother. As a little boy and throughout my youth, she taught me to see the positive in the things you experience in life, even when you experience setbacks. Even though it looks very dark for a moment, you should always focus on the bright side. That is exactly the message I want to convey. Life is not always easy; it goes up, it goes down, and around and around, but ‘C’est La Vie'”

The song in both English and French is written by Claude as well as Léon Paul, Arno Krabman and Joren van der Voort. Esteemed Creative Director Pim Brassien will be working with Claude on the performance and staging for Basel. Previously, Pim has worked with S10.
