After winning Benidorm Fest earlier this year, Melody had released a revamp of her entry “Esa Diva”, which will be the final version of Spain’s entry for Eurovision 2025.
A collaboration for a revamp
The original song in Benidorm was composed by Alberto Fuentes Lorite and Melody herself. The revamp was the work of Rick Parkhouse and George Tizzard, of Red Triangle Records, as well as EIGHTY4. This version was recorded in Christchurch, UK, in late February, after two intense recording sessions. The new version aims to embark the listener on “a journey through musical references”, with sections of the songs showcasing each a different nuance of Melody’s voice. The other goal was also to make Melody’s voice clearer over the backing track. The musical arrangement of the more classic Spanish part came from Guillem Vira Boras, a Valencian artist based in Norway.
The videoclip was filmed in March, in Madrid, and was directed by Mario Ruiz, who will also direct the stage performance in Basel.
