🇨🇿 Czechia announces 260 songs for Eurovision 2026 consideration
Over the past two months, Česká televize began its search for the next representative on the Eurovision stage. After the closure of the song submissions window, the broadcaster has confirmed a total of 260 songs were submitted.
Much like previous years, an internal review using a public poll and a selection committee of experts will assess the entries received. The internally selected artist and song will represent Czechia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 taking place in Vienna, Austria next May.
Czechia in the Eurovision Song Contest
Czechia first debuted at Eurovision in 2007. Back then, they hosted a televised national final. Rockers Kabát won the show and took ‘Malá Dama’ to Helsinki. Sadly, they finished last in the Semi-Final. Both of the 2008 and 2009 entries also ended without any success, causing the Czechs to withdraw.
Surprisingly, they returned in 2015 and recorded their first qualification a year later. So far, their best result was in 2018, when Mikolas Josef finished in sixth place with ‘Lie To Me’. Since their return, the Czechs have achieved two top ten results. Earlier this year ADONXS took to the Basel stage. Unfortunately he failed to advance to the final, placing 12th in the second Semi-Final with 29 points.
