Inês Gonçalves releases JESC 2025 entry ‘Para onde vai o amor?’

RTP the national broadcaster of Portugal have confirmed their representative for JESC 2025 Inês Gonçalves will sing the entry, ‘Para onde vai o amor?’, later this year in Tbilisi, Georgia on December 13.

Ines is twelve years old and has performed since the age of three. Over the years she has learned to play multiple musical instruments including, drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, violin, trumpet, piano, bass, ukulele and transverse flute. Currently, she is part of the Ourique Children’s Choir. Following the conclusion of the latest series of The Voice Kids Portugal, Inês Gonçalves was declared the winner. During the televised final, the eight finalists were whittled down to four. The coaches chose one of their two remaining acts to progress to the second round. In the second round, Inês Gonçalves stood out from the final four and was announced as Portugal’s representative for the upcoming Junior Eurovision 2025 taking place in Tbilisi, Georgia on December 13.

‘Para onde vai o amor?’ (Where Does Love Go?) was written and composed by Miguel Cristovinho, Buba Espinho, João Direitinho and Aurora Pinto.

Portugal in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest

Making their Junior Eurovision debut in 2006, Portugal has competed in the contest nine times, having taken an extended break from the contest between 2008 and 2016 and on one more occasion, in 2020. Pedro Madeira represented Portugal on their debut appearance with “Deixa-me sentir” finishing in 14th place with 22 points.

Last year, Victoria Nicole represented the Iberian nation with, ‘Esperança’. During the Madrid contest, Victoria achieved Portugal’s best result. Once the votes were combined, Portugal finished in second place with 213 points. This included victory in the online televote. Only the second time in the contest that Portugal have reached the top 10.
