The EBU and Georgia’s GPB recently revealed the names of the hosts of the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Tbilisi on 13 December. They are David Aladashvili and Liza Tsiklauri.
A duo to host the contest
Liza Tsiklauri is a TV host and journalist, who began her career with GPB in 2008 and has been hosting the Moambe news program since 2014. She has also been host to several major national or international televised events, such as the New Year Gala of Georgia or the opening ceremony of EuroBasket 2022.
As for David Aladashvili, in addition of being a TV host, he is also a musician. Having started to play the piano in his early teens, he studied at the Tbilisi Special School of Music and at The Juilliard School in New-York City, having debuted at Carnegie Hall in the Weill Recital Hall, in 2010, and he has lived in the Big Apple for more than 10 years. He strongly believes that piano recitals and concerts should not just attract people of a certain, older generation, and has been focussing on bringing young people to such events and sharing this type of music with them.
David has also hosted several TV and live events in Georgia, and is currently the artistic director of the Tbilisi National Youth Palace
