With the Merry season of FiKmas almost upon us, Albania’s national broadcaster RTSH has announced the running orders for the first two nights of Festivali i Këngës 64.

Next week, the Albanian broadcaster RTSH will host a four-day festival of music and entertainment across December 17, 18, 19 and 20. Today, RTSH has revealed the running orders for night 1 and night 2 of Festivali i Këngës 64 that takes place on December 17 and 18.

Night three features a ‘Night of Nostalgia’ where artists will perform songs to celebrate the history of FiK. The Grand Final of FiK 64 will take place on December 20 in the Palace of Congresses in Tirana. During the show, the winner will be chosen through 50% jury voting, 25% international online voting and 25% voting from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro and North Macedonia. Additionally, a new FiK app will include online voting and transcriptions of the shows in both Albanian and English. Throughout the show, various artistic awards will also be handed out.
Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest
Since their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 in Istanbul, Turkey, Albania has participated at the contest a total of 21 times. Over the years, this has yielded twelve qualifications. Their highest placement came in 2012 when Rona Nishliu placed fifth in the Grand Final with her song ‘Suus’.
In Basel earlier this year, Shkodra Elektronike represented Albania with their entry, ‘Zjerm’. During the final, the duo achieved Albania’s best result since 2012 with 8th place. As well as this, Albania earned a personal record of 218 points.
