Today (11th March 2026) the broadcaster responsible for the Czech Republic’s representation at the Eurovision Song Contest – ČT have released their entry “CROSSROADS” performed by Daniel Žižka. The contest is due to take place in Vienna – Austria this coming May.
🇨🇿 Powerful vocals for a powerful song
In his entry “CROSSROADS” Daniel puts in a powerful display of full throttle vocal might in the hope to catch the public’s and juror’s attention! Hearing is definitely believing and you can listen to the song and watch the music video below.
Czechia will be hoping to; like his vocals, soar into the final. The central European nation last contested a Eurovision final in Liverpool thanks to girl group Vesna with “My Sister’s Crown” in 2023.
🇨🇿 The story so far
Late last year, Czech broadcaster ČT revealed that 260 submissions had been received for Eurovision 2026. Following careful assessment by an internal panel, it was decided that rising star, 23-year-old Daniel Zizka will represent the nation in Vienna, Austria this May.
“When Daniel came into the studio and sang his song straight through on the first try with absolute ease, the room fell completely silent. Not because he was loud, but because he was completely focused and confident. The performance was disarming – technically precise, yet full of emotion. t was clear we were watching an artist who knows exactly who he wants to be.”
Kryštof Šámal, Czech HoD
“This year we decided to connect our media outputs with a unifying element. All components from photography and graphic identity to the music video and staging contain a leitmotif that symbolically underlines Daniel’s journey.”
Michal Utíkal, Head of Media
“Eurovision is a huge platform and a big show. But what I mainly want to bring there is music and emotion. I don’t want to compete hidden behind flashiness and spectacle. I want to stand firmly behind who I am as an artist.”
