The Finnish monsters have done a number of ads over the years. In honor of the 20th anniversary of their Eurovision victory, we are doing a deep dive into the history behind them.
Even though Lordi has existed as a band since 1992, one can argue that they reached the height of their fame when they won Eurovision 2026 with “Hard Rock Hallelujah”:
Since then, they have continued to be a part of Eurovision history, performing as interval acts several times. Mr. Lordi himself even appeared as the Finnish spokesperson during the point-giving in Baku in 2012.
These last few years, Lord have been booked and busy doing TV appearances, podcasts, touring and creating more music. But they have also taken the time to do a number of collaborations and advertisements. In this article, we will be looking closer at these, starting with the casino game from 2022:
Reel Monsters
On April 28th 2022, it was announced that Lordi got their very own online slot machine at House of Spades called Reel Monsters. The slot machine featured a design themed around the monsters:

Two new songs were also made, “Better hate than never” and “Reel Monsters”, which got its own music video. You can see the video here:
The online slot machine is also still available for free – but if you want to play, remember to gamle responsibly.
OnePlus and “Made of Metal”
In August 2024, Lordi partnered with the tech company OnePlus for the promotion of their new phone, the OnePlus Nord 4. The phone was made of metal and of course came with a brand new Lordi-song called “Made of Metal” and a funny promotional video that can be found below:
As an addition to the ads and the song, OnePlus launched a giveaway where you could win a very special edition of the Nord 4. Mr. Lordi’s autograph was engraved in the back. It was called the most metal phone ever!
Pantamera
In April 2026, Lordi was back with yet another collaboration. This time with the Swedish bottle deposit authority, Pantamera, which is known to collaborate with musical artists to spread the message of recycling. This of course came with a song where Lordi delved into Swedish-speaking territory:
The advertising campaign delved into the similarities between recycling and horror, talking about how zombies are recycling. It’s a very cool and creative ad campaign!
Clash of Clans
The latest ad-venture for Lordi is for the video game app Clash of Clans. In a series of 10 videos, Mr. Lordi promoted the Clash vs. Skeletons, of course promoting the side of the skeletons. During the videos, he had a bunch of skeleton-related titles, such as Skeleton CEO and Head of Skeletal Monetization. In the end, though, Mr. Lordi left the Clash of Clans headquarters with disappointment over the fact that there were too few skeletons involved in the event.
As we have explored in this article, Lordi has done some funny, creative (and maybe slightly unhinged) ads and collabs over the years. But that’s why we love them. They look scary, but they don’t take themselves too seriously, and they aren’t afraid to have fun!
