San Marino to submit host bid for JESC 2026

During a recent press conference, the Sammarinese broadcaster SMRTV confirmed that they will present a bid to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026.

Following their recent Junior Eurovision victory, France Télévisions confirmed they would not host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026. Typically, the winning broadcaster has first refusal on hosting rights from the EBU. This leaves the door open for other competing broadcasters to submit their proposals to host the next edition of the junior competition.

During a recent press conference, SMRTV revealed they will submit a bid to bring Junior Eurovision 2026 to the microstate of San Marino. So far they are the first broadcaster to declare interest in hosting the next edition.

Late last year, San Marino achieved their best result in any Eurovision competition. Martina CRV placed 9th in the JESC 2025 final with third place in the public televote.

“It was a thrilling success to see San Marino in the ‘left-hand side’ of the rankings for the first time with a prestigious ninth place. Martina was the third most voted for by the public, a result that encourages us to officially apply to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026.”

Roberto Sergio, (SMRTV Director General)
