After recently confirming their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, Swedish broadcaster SVT has revealed that Oscar Zia and Björn Kjellman will host Melodifestivalen 2027.

Nearly as important as the competing acts themselves, SVT has officially announced the latest hosts for the upcoming Melodifestivalen 2027. From February of next year, Oscar Zia and Björn Kjellman will guide the audience through six weeks of Sweden’s biggest television show as we await who will represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 next May in Burgas.
Although they have yet to appear on screen together, both Oscar and Björn bring a wealth of television and entertainment experience. Many will remember Oscar Zia as Melodifestivalen royalty. Already Oscar has competed in the competition twice, in 2014 and 2016. Famously coming second in the latter appearance with, ‘Human’. Following this success, Oscar went onto host Melodifestivalen in back to back years across 2021 and 2022.
“It feels wonderful to be back! I love Mello and it feels fun and safe to have Björn by my side. I’m really looking forward to hanging out with the viewers again, and leading them through Sweden’s biggest TV party.”

Meanwhile, Björn Kjellman is a household acting star in Sweden. With over 40-years in the industry, including a participation in Melodifestivalen 2006. During the final Björn placed ninth with, ‘Älskar du livet’.
“If you have devoted so much unnatural time to Melodifestivalen and Eurovision as I have, in the nerdiest of nerdy ways, then this is obviously the most fun assignment you can get. And to do it with such a smart and fun guy like Oscar is perfect. I absolutely adore him. To be able to host Sweden’s funniest and biggest TV show, well, it’s simply an honor.”
