Human postcards
Getting to know the artist gives to the show a less competitive and less rigid frame, making it feel more like a celebration. Also: having a human component before a performance helps keeping the interest up between the viewers (“Oh, look at those bunch of people, what will they do?”). There are different ways of doing it (DR in 2014 followed the 2013 idea, whereas the Austrian broadcaster introduced the “visit Austria” twist to them), let’s just not pull a Baku 2012 and use the Sergels Torg obelisk as the Maiden Tower of 2016.
