The epic olympic-like parade
Announcing the participating country in the opening of the final seems to have caught up after 2013. Conchita shouting (and sometimes mispronouncing) countries was possibly fun, with all the singers crossing the arena – but ÖRF struggled to clear the stage after each parade. Denmark just went for a simple “singer crossing the stage”, whereas the Swedes knew what they were doing: a big gospel anthem, huge flags and white dressed flag bearers, participants waving like Queen Elizabeth II and the feeling that the competion was going to be epic.
