It is official, escXtra can now confirm that the headline act for the London Eurovision Party, for the third year running, is the United Kingdom’s entry! Joe and Jake won the UK ticket to Eurovision and will headline this year’s party at the Café de Paris on 17 April.
Joe and Jake first crossed paths in 2015 as rivals in the BBC’s popular talent show The Voice UK, each aligning themselves with competitive megastar coaches Rita Ora and will.i.am respectively. However, it wasn’t long before true friendship struck up behind the scenes, united by a deep love of music, Liverpool Football Club and Nandos.
The boys, who describe their sound as a euphoric blend of iridescent pop melodies with acoustic guitars, had this to say about winning the UK ticket to Stockholm:
“We feel seriously honoured to be representing the UK at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. We want to do everyone proud, whether you’re watching at home or cheering from overseas. Most of all, we want nothing more than for the UK to go out and smash it again.”
