TG4, The Irish broadcaster for Junior Eurovision, have today confirmed their participation at this year’s contest in Minsk.
The broadcaster revealed the news on their official page, teasing that details for this year’s auditions would be coming soon.
Since their debut at the contest 3 years ago, Ireland have only managed to reach the top 10 once. In 2016, Zena Donelly took to the stage with the song “Bríce ar bhríce”. She gave Ireland their highest placing to date, receiving a total of 122 points.
Last year, the nation was represented by 12 year old Muireann McDonnell who went to Tbilisi with the song “Súile Glasa“. Sadly this finished second-last at the contest, receiving a total of 54 points.
