Janice Mangion to audition for X Factor Malta

The Maltese starlet's Eurovision journey is not yet over...

Despite being one of the big favourites to represent Malta in 2017, Janice Mangion missed out on representing the island nation by just 452 televotes. But now, she has revealed on her official Facebook page that she will audition for the X Factor Malta – the show whose winner will represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Israel!

Kewkba left everyone breathless. Too breathless.

In 2017, Janice Mangion’s Kewkba was the favourite to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The beautiful ballad combined with Janice’s stunning vocals left the audience breathless.

Unfortunately, this breathlessness lead the audience to connect with Claudia Faniello’s Breathlessly which won the contest but was doomed at Eurovision to come 16th in the 18-song second semifinal.

Janice’s return

Janice made the announcement on her Facebook page:

People have flooded the comments section with supportive messages and good luck comments, and we at ESCXTRA would also like to wish Janice the best of luck on this journey!
Should Janice Mangion represent Malta in Israel next year? Would Kewkba have done better in 2017? Are you looking forward to seeing the X Factor Malta auditions?

I've watched Eurovision for as long as I can remember, but my interest really built in 2008, after I decided to watch the semifinals online, out of boredom, before the final...I was blown away by the quality of the show and have been hooked ever since! I'm a competitive trampolinist and I love baking. I've also just completed a master's degree in Research Methods in Psychology at University College London.
