Listen to “Répondez-moi”
The song is written by Xavier Michel, Alizé Oswald and Jeroen Swinnen together with the artist Gjon Muharremaj. Jeroen Swinnen previously worked with Tom Dice on his Eurovision 2010 entry “Me and My Guitar”: “Répondez-moi” will be the first Swiss song to be sung in French for 10 years.
Everyone asks themselves why exactly are we here, where do we come from and where are we going. These are key questions, particularly for people from a migrant background. My parents are from Albania and Kosovo. I grew up in Switzerland and it’s my home, these are questions that I think about a lot.
Gjon’s Tears about the song
21-year-old Gjon Muharremaj has previously taken part in Albania’s Got Talent, Switzerland’s Got Talent and The Voice of France. He says that whether it’s joy, sadness or melancholy, he wants to touch people with his music in every possible way.
Switzerland selected their entry internally for the second time in a row. 515 songs were submitted for the broadcaster. The song was chosen by expert jury and 100-member audience panel. The international group of experts consists of 21 jurors, including Eurovision stars Tinkara Kovac, Ovi and Ruth Lorenzo.
