VICTORIA, who was selected to represent Bulgaria in Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song “Tears Getting Sober” has commented on the cancellation of the contest on her Instagram.
“We should be allowed to perform our songs in 2021”
VICTORIA says that she believes the artists chosen for Eurovision 2020 should be allowed to perform their songs in 2021.
Tears Getting Sober is a project that means the world to me as an artist and to the great team behind it. I understand and respect this necessary decision but I also believe we, the 2020 Eurovision artists, should be allowed to perform our songs in 2021.VICTORIA on Eurovision 2021

Tears Getting Sober is a project that means the world to me as an artist and to the great team behind it. I understand and respect this necessary decision but I also believe we, the 2020 #Eurovision artists, should be allowed to perform our songs in 2021. 2021. ———————————————————————— Photography by: @loramusheva 🖤
VICTORIA was internally selected by the broadcaster BNT and the song “Tears Getting Sober” was one of the favourites to win the Eurovision Song Contest 2020.
The European Broadcasting Union stated that the reference group and the participating broadcasters will later make a decision on if the selected artists will be able to perform their songs in next year’s contest.
Genoveva Christova, BNT’s main partner for Eurovision 2020 and the owner of Ligna Studios, also says, that the artists and their songs should be allowed to participate in 2021.
Genoveva Christova, our main partner for this year’s Eurovision said: “We are extremely disappointed with this decision. We believe that the participants and their songs should be allowed to participate in 2021. We can’t allow our labor to be wasted”— iCard Eurovision Bulgaria 🇧🇬 (@bg_eurovision) March 18, 2020
