French broadcaster France 2 has officially opened submissions for their Eurovision 2021 national selection. This comes after it was revealed that Tom Leeb would not return to represent the country next year.
Looking for someone new
As of today, you can send your application to be in with a chance of taking part in France’s national selection. The deadline to apply is on 30 September.
It appears that the selection will not be Destination Eurovision, as it has been known to select France’s 2018 and 2019 entries. The show will go by a different name and will be hosted away from the capital. As French Head of Delegation Alexandra Redde-Amiel revealed earlier this month, it will only take one show to find out who will next represent France.

France in Eurovision 2020
Tom Leeb was expected to represent France in Rotterdam this year with his song “Mon Alliée (The Best In Me)”. It was written by himself, Léa Ivanne, John Lundvik and Amir Haddad. The song was presented for the first time live from the Eiffel Tower in February.
Unfortunately, before Tom could take to the stage in The Netherlands, the Eurovision Song Contest was announced to be cancelled this year.
