๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฐ MRT to make decision regarding Junior Eurovision in upcoming days

Will North Macedonia light their "Fire"?

North Macedonia’s national broadcaster MRT have confirmed that they will make a decision regarding their participation in this year’s Junior Eurovision within the next few days.

Currently, the broadcaster has not yet announced any plans to take part in the contest in Warsaw. To date, North Macedonia have only missed two contests in 2012 and 2014.

Country number 14?

According to Eurovoix, the broadcaster is due to make an announcement soon about their future in the contest. In May, MRT confirmed to ESCXTRA that they were awaiting instructions from the EBU before making a decision on whether or not to participate.

Currently, 13 countries have confirmed their participation, while Wales and Australia have both announced their withdrawal from the contest. With the full list of participating countries revealed in late July for the past two years, an announcement from the EBU is imminent!

North Macedonia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019

On 9th July 2019, Mila Moskov was internally selected as the North Macedonian representative for Junior Eurovision 2019. Her song, โ€œFireโ€, was released on 15th October. Written by Lazar Cvetkoski and Magdalena Cvetkoska, the song finished in 6th place overall.

Scoring just one set of 12 points from Malta, the song scored 100 points in the jury voting. It received a further 50 points from the online voting.

Are you hoping to see North Macedonia “move the world” in Warsaw? Which other countries would you like to see take part?

I'm the youngest member of the team here at ESCXTRA but that doesn't mean I know the least about the contest. You'll usually find me enjoying a Eurovision classic, while discovering new facts about Eurovision history. When I'm not doing that, I'll be somewhere on a dancefloor... still thinking about music!
