🇵🇱 Viki Gabor: ‘I would love to host Junior Eurovision’.

After storming to victory on home ground last November, Viki Gabor has been very busy. With her debut album set to be released in September, she now has her eyes set once more on the Junior Eurovision stage!

Continuing the tradition

The first Polish winner of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, Roksana Węgiel, went on to host the 2019 edition in Gliwice, Poland. It seems this may have inspired Viki Gabor, the latest winner, to follow suit. In an interview with the website Pomponik.pl, Viki said that while she would “love to host the competition“, she also “doesn’t know what it will look like“. Us fans can certainly relate, especially after the adult edition was cancelled due to the current pandemic.

Not all singing and dancing!

Viki also stated that she would already “have a lot of responsibilities, when I sing and all these rehearsals“. Not an easy task, but I have the feeling that Viki could be a ‘superhero’ and rise to the occasion! While it was announced that the contest will be held in Warsaw, the exact venue and hosts of the 2020 Junior Eurovision have yet to be announced. This is expected to be announced by TVP after the summer break.

Poland’s Junior Eurovision history

Debuting at the first edition of the contest in 2003, Poland unfortunately came in last place. The same fate awaited them one year later, again placing last. After an 11-year absence, the country returned in 2016 with an 11th place. In 2018 Poland won the contest with Roksana Węgiel and her song ‘Anyone I want to be’. Victory came calling again on home ground, when reigning champion Viki Gabor was victorious with ‘Superhero’. Talk about fortunes changing for the better! Hopefully this will inspire countries that are struggling with their results in the contest.
