‘My New Day’ was written by Sofia, along with Anna Petryasheva and Vitaly Tomin. Upon the release of the official music video of the song, Sofia was asked what her favourite lyric from the song is. To this, she answered:
The whole world feels like home; there I’ll stay, It’s my new day
She went on to explain that ‘This line is a call and reminder from a child for every adult: never be embarrassed to believe in miracles, create your own ‘fairy tale,’ and then your every ‘new day will be great”
In addition, Sofia also mentioned that her dream is to someday be able to sing with Polina Gagarina on the same stage. Polina represented Russia at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest with her song ‘A Million Voices’ where she placed 2nd behind Sweden’s Måns Zelmerlöw.
