The Mamas have performed a song from their new Christmas EP as part of SVT’s ‘Musikkalendern’ (Music Calendar) series. The Melodifestivalen 2020 winners were revealed for day thirteen of the series, performing ‘A Christmas Night To Remember’.
SVT’s ‘Musikkalendern’ is a series of music performances from a variety of Swedish artists, with one presented every day of December before Christmas in the style of an advent calendar. Artists so far have included Sanna Nielsen and Sarah Dawn Finer. Later Eurovision and Melfest artists such as Måns Zelmerlöw and Anna Bergendahl will also perform.

All I Want For December
Earlier The Mamas had released their Christmas EP ‘All I Want For December’. Click here for more details or listen on Spotify below.
”All I Want for December” consists of six Christmas songs: both covers and new songs written for or by us, with messages of love, joy and contemplation – and that Christmas is also about much more than just candy canes, gifts and Santa Claus.🎁🎁🎁The Mamas (@themamas.se)
The Mamas at the Eurovision Song Contest
In 2019, The Mamas came to prominence, as being part of John Lundvik’s entry for Sweden ‘Too Late For Love’. Their participation saw Sweden place fifth overall in the 2019 competition.
A year later, The Mamas were announced as one of the participants, at Melodifestivalen 2020 with their song ‘Move’ which was written by Melanie Wehbe, Patrik Jean, and Herman Gardarfve. The trio managed to win the ticket to Eurovision 2020 by one point. Which is the tightest winning margin at Melodifestivalen since 2014. Unfortunately due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the EBU announced earlier this year the cancellation of Eurovision 2020. The Mamas however are set to make a return to Meldoifestivalen 2021. Could they have another chance at Eurovision?
