SVT is going all in!
According to Aftonbladet’s insiders, Christer Björkman will host all six shows of Melodifestivalen in 2021 and will be joined by two or more hosts for each show. One of the names is Lena Philipsson. She has competed four times as an artist and twice more as a songwriter. In 2000 and 2003, she was one of several presenters. In 2006 she hosted all six shows on her own. Two others who also said yes are Eurovision winner Måns Zelmerlöw, who also had success as host of the competition in 2010. Oscar Zia is also said to have agreed to lead one of the Melodifestivalen’s six broadcasts in February or March.
Pernilla Wahlgren, Sarah Dawn Finer, Sanna Nielsen & Anis don Demina were asked, but it is unsure if they said yes (yet). Danny Saucedo has previously revealed that he was one of those who got asked. But that he instead decided to rather compete again after Christer Björkman called him.
He said that it is his last year and that he wanted me to be part of hosting the first semi-final. He wanted to include people he knew who meant something to him and to the competition through his years. I thought it sounded hilarious and felt honored that he wanted me to be part of it. But when I hung up, it starts to bubble in me, Danny told Aftonbladet in connection with him being confirmed as an artist in next year’s competition.
