🇪🇸 Blas Cantó joins Nia Correia on new single ‘Cúrame’

Watch Blas and NIA perform the intimate duet below!

New year means more of New Music Friday! This week we have a gift of Kings as Spain’s Eurovision 2020 and 2021 representative Blas Cantó teams up with Operación Triunfo 2020 winner Nia Correia on new single ‘Cúrame’.

Cúrame

As a busy Eurovision season gets underway and Blas Cantó prepares his Eurovision entry, he has found time for the first of many surprises he has to come. Today he brings us ‘Cúrame’ (Heal Me) with the latest Operación Triunfo winner, Nia Correia. Here the two interplay together in an intimate duet, delivering the heartfelt honesty of lost love. All wrapped in a gentle piano melody to let their vocals shine through.

This contrast of emotions and drama is enhanced further in the music video. Which uses the simplicity of Blas and NIA on a black and white filter to full effect. With them starting back to back, before facing each other to confront their pain. The song is written and produced by Ricky Furiati, Pedro Elipe and Mark Monserrat.

However this is not the first time the two have collaborated together! Last June during NIA’s time in the Spanish singing competition OT, the two first met. During the Semi-Final they performed ‘Hoy Tengo Genas De Ti’ (Today I Want You).

Blas Cantó in the Eurovision Song Contest

Last year, Blas Cantó was internally selected by RTVE to represent Spain at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. Where he was to set to take to the Rotterdam stage with his song ‘Universo’. As a member of the Big Five, Blas was set to participate in the Grand Final of the competition. However in March 2020 the EBU announced the unfortunate cancellation of the contest due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Despite this, RTVE invited him to represent Spain once again for the return to Rotterdam in May.

Since then it has been revealed Blas will present four songs to the broadcaster. Furthermore, a national final has been proposed to take place in the coming weeks to choose the entry for Eurovision 2021.
