🇲🇩 TRM confirms: Natalia Gordienko to represent Moldova in 2021!

While Natalia Gordienko already put “Eurovision 2021” to her Instagram bio some months ago, only today the Moldovan broadcaster TRM has confirmed that she will represent Moldova in 2021.

Official confirmation

Natalia Gordienko won Moldova’s national selection in 2020 with “Prison” and was set to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam. However, as the contest was cancelled, it was up to the broadcaster to decide, if they want to send her in 2021, like many other countries.

Today the official confirmation came from the broadcaster TRM. In a press release they state, that due the COVID-19 pandemic, they will not hold a national selection but have decided to send Natalia Gordienko to Eurovision Song Contest 2021.

Given the fact that the artist selected at the 2020 edition did not have the opportunity to participate due to force majeure, the Organizing Committee decided that Natalia Gordienko will be given the chance to represent the Republic of Moldova at the 2021 edition. According to the rules announced by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the singer will present a new song and stage concept by March 8, 2021.

Press release by TRM

Natalia Gordienko represented Moldova already in 2006 with the song “Loca” alongside Arsenium and Connect-R. They placed 20th in the final.
