The Scoop🇮🇱 Israel

🇮🇱 Zohar Barzilai, Adi Rotem and Maayan Bukris to release “Shoulders” officially

Good news for some fans!

“Shoulders” was one of the fan favourites to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 but eventually wasn’t picked to be performed by Eden Alene in the national final. However, as pleasant surprise for the fans, it was announced that the songwriters Zohar Barzilai and Adi “Choke” Rotem are working on an official version of the song.

Two-time Eurovision backing singer on vocals

The singer on the demo version wass Maayan Bukris, who will also provide vocals on the produced version to be released on February. Maayan provided backing vocals for Kobi Marimi in 2019 and Eurovision winner Netta in 2018.

Zohar Barzilai is the brother of Netta and according to Adi Rotem, they also submitted songs for her in 2018. Since then, they have submitted songs to Eurovision every year.

Only this year their song was shortlisted and became on the biggest favourites among the Eurovision fans. It eventually finished fourth with 12.1% of the votes and wasn’t selected to be produced and performed by Eden Alene. Last night, the song “Set Me Free” was chosen for Eden to sing in Rotterdam.
