Rotterdam 2021🇷🇸 Serbia

🇷🇸 Have RTS cancelled selection for Hurricane’s Eurovision entry?

RTS have cancelled plans for a national selection to choose Hurricane’s Eurovision 2021 entry, according to Serbian media. No official announcement has yet been made.

ESC Serbia have reported that on “Kec na jedanaest” broadcast on Televiziji K1 it was announced RTS will instead opt for an internal selection. According to the report the selection show was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic and instead a song for Hurricane will be selected internally and revealed in the ‘coming days’. The song is expect to be premiered on RTS’ own YouTube channel.

This decision would follow Slovenia’s decision to opt for an internal selection after initially announcing a televised selection show for Ana Soklič’s entry for Eurovision 2021.

Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020

Back in March 2020, Hurricane were selected to represent Serbia at the 2020 contest, due to be held in Rotterdam. A few weeks after their selection, the contest was cancelled.

Their entry, “Hasta La Vista”, was selected for the contest after winning Beovizija with the maximum 24 points. Naiva finished in second place, nine points behind Hurricane, with 15 points. Hurricane were also selected as the winners of the OGAE Serbia Award, which saw members of the Serbian OGAE club vote for their favourite entry.
