Reviews
Costa (12pts)
Although we’ve had VERY little time to get acquainted with this year’s Sanremo songs, I’ve already decided that “VOCE” is my favourite song of the entire season. Although Madame’s chances of victory are non-existant at this stage, she would shoot straight to my number one slot if she were selected for Eurovision. The production is dynamic, industrial, gritty and intense, with a powerful vocal to match. It’s been a while since a song hit me as viscerally hard on first listen as this song has. Also, the demoscopic juries can get lost for putting this 11th on Night One x
Maria (10pts)
“Voce” wasn’t a song I liked instantly, to be honest. However, it’s safe to say for now that it grew for me a lot! It’s so dynamic, mature and complete, you feel it within her staging too. I wouldn’t be surprised if she wins this year because it would be absolutely deserved.
Nick (10pts)
Voce is quite a surprising winner of Sanremo for me. Madame was not a name I had in sight when looking at the full list, but boy, does she deserve the credit and the praise she is receiving right here. It’s a very contemporary effort and Madame is a great performer. This is a showcase example of how an orchestra can go hand in hand with a modern piece of music. I’d be surprised to see this in Rotterdam, but I’ll wave an Italian flag in the background if she does.
Sami (6pts)
I’m very happy that in recent years Sanremo has allowed more contemporary songs to compete and they have also been doing well. While “VOCE” might be a bit difficult song to get into on the first listen, for me it’s very impressive song. I really like the quite heavy, dynamic sound of the song and it’s amazing how Madame performs the song on the stage with such confidence, in such a young age. While she might not win this year, I really hope she comes back to Sanremo soon!
