Bente (6pts)
This is a surprising winner of Xtra Decides, in my opinion! It’s definitely a good song though, so I am not complaining. They are very charming performers and that is probably what makes the song stand out. It may not be my favourite of Eesti Laul, but it would be cool to see them win. However, I wouldn’t be too sure about its qualifying chances if it did win. It sounds a bit outdated at times, and while that can work in its favour, it is also what keeps me from giving it more points.
Lisa (10pts)
Our Estonian fairy godmothers have descended from the heavens with a disco Schlager bop! Suured tüdrukud are two of the hardest working ladies in the industry. Between them they have performed backing vocals for numerous Eurovision entries for Estonia and other countries. They are also backing vocalists for Koit Toome’s song. So they have a wealth of experience and it shows. But more than that it’s their joy and passion for music that shines through and the energy they give for every performance. I hope I have their gusto for life at their age! I really hope this does well.
Nick (12pts)
Oh yes!!! I love this team for doing this. Eesti Laul has provided us with an old-fashioned disco schlager banger and I am living for it. I love how Suured Tüdrukud deliver this. These two have some pipes between them, it’s staggering. Eesti Laul is a beacon of alternative, indie music with the occasional schlager or pop song. This, to me, would be a sign that Estonia are just doing whatever they like and sending this to Eurovision would be a phenomenal throwback. Heaven’s not that far indeed!
Tom R (12pts)
This is so fun! This year, my favourites are dominated by fun pop – because we need it! This would be no exception. I feel like I can put this song on and just sing, dance and have fun for three minutes! This would be the perfect tonic between ballads and chart-style pop. It is reminiscent of late 90s/early 00s schlager entries and it would be so fun to have it in the contest! And not to forget their outstanding performance: those ladies can sing!
