🇪🇸 PrePartyES 2021 to be held online on 24th April

This is the second time the event will be held online

Eurovision Spain has confirmed that PrePartyES 2021 will be held on 24th April at 22:00 CET. The event will be held online for the second year in a row, due to the ongoing pandemic. The event was moved online last year, with 24 artists taking part in the YouTube-streamed event.

The event will be streamed on YouTube for free, however a donation system will be set up for anyone who wishes to contribute to the event and “collaborate with the realisation of this work and future projects”. The artists that will take part in the event will be announced over the upcoming weeks.

Celebrating Eurovision debuts

Though the artists taking part in the event have not yet been announced, the organisers have confirmed that the pre-party will “highlight the debuts of the participating countries”.

This year’s edition wants to highlight the debuts of the participating countries. These first participations are a faithful reflection of the history of Europe and of how the festival has evolved since its foundation in 1956.

43,000 people watched last year’s PrePartyES at Home live which featured performances by 21 acts from Eurovision 2020 and guest appearances from former Eurovision participants Lucia Perez, Soraya and Zlata Ognevich as well as Melani, who represented Spain at the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Several in-person pre-parties have already been cancelled this year. Amsterdam’s Eurovision in Concert has been postponed until 2022, while the London Eurovision Party has also been cancelled for the second year in a row. The Spanish pre-party is the first to be confirmed for this year, albeit being hosted online.

Are you looking forward to watching PrePartyES 2021? Who would you like to see perform at the online event?
