Rehearsal review

Rehearsing right now for the second time inside the Rotterdam Ahoy is Natalia Gordienko performing “Sugar” for Moldova. We will continue to update this article as each run through takes place, so make sure to keep refreshing for the most up-to-date review!

Firstly, remind yourselves what happened in the first rehearsal:

And now here is what we’ve noticed in today’s second rehearsal:

Immediately from the beginning of Natalia’s second rehearsal we see her looking a lot more comfortable and happier whilst performing. The LED backdrop looks brighter in this run through, but this may be as a result of either different camera shots or lighting.

At a few points, we see some different choreography as to what we saw in the first rehearsal. Furthermore, during the walk along the turning podium in the middle 8, the camera shots are a lot closer to create a better illusion effect that she is walking across the screen. She still needs more confidence whilst doing this however.

The final chorus with Natalia’s big note, in which she continues to take the lower harmony whilst the backing singer singer the higher harmony, has been reconstructed camera-wise with camera shots that are much more dynamic and climactic. In the second run through, Natalia goes for the higher harmony and hits it flawlessly.
