🇲🇩 Moldova will not participate in Junior Eurovision 2021

This marks their eighth consecutive non-participation

Following their withdrawal in 2014, The Moldovan broadcaster confirmed that will not be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. They join a string of countries who will not be taking part in the contest this December. 

TRM confirms Moldova’s eighth consecutive non-participation 

TRM confirmed to Eurofestivales that Moldova will not be participating in this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Paris. Vitalie Cojocaru, president of the Organising Committee, did not give a reason.

Last year, TRM confirmed to Eurofestivales that Moldova would not participate in the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and did also not give a reason behind their non-participation.

Junior Eurovision 2021 so far

Only days after Valentina’s win, the EBU were quick to confirm that we will be travelling to France for the 18th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The contest will take place on December 19th at La Seine Musicale. The slogan of the contest will be Imagine.

At this point, nine countries have confirmed to participate in the JESC edition of 2021.

  • Portugal
  • Russia
  • Spain
