Last week, TVP confirmed that their 2022 entry will be selected internally, with submissions now being open. The deadline for submissions is November 20. However, we now know who WON’T be submitting an entry, Junior Eurovision 2018 winner Roksana Węgiel. She also revealed that she had been approached for Eurovision 2021.
According to Eurowizja, Roksana Węgiel has ruled out participating in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, due to be hosted in Italy. As it happens, the former Junior Eurovision winner had been approached by TVP earlier this year for the 2021 contest, but declined the offer, despite now being eligible for the adult contest.
I do not feel ready for adult Eurovision, I will not hide it. I don’t feel it right now, at this point, so for now the idea is gone. Although who knows, maybe in the future? Really, if I decided to participate in adult Eurovision, I would have to come up with a very good number.

When asked what kind of entry she would like to go with in the future, she responded with a ballad that would represent her skills as a vocalist. However, it would also need to be a modern composition. This is fairly reflective of her self-titled debut album, which earned her the award of Best Polish Act at the 2019 MTV European Music Awards.
Poland at Eurovision 2021
Last year, TVP ran a two-stage national final Szansa na sukces in order to select their Eurovision 2020 entry. The Voice of Poland 10 winner Alicja Szemplińska went on to win the selection with “Empires”. She was due to perform in the first half of the second semi-final, prior to the cancellation of the contest.
In 2021, TVP opted to not re-select Alicja for Eurovision 2021. Instead, Rafał Brzozowski was internally-selected to represent Poland in Rotterdam with “The Ride”. He failed to qualify from the second semi-final, placing 14th with 35 points, marking Poland’s third consecutive non-qualification.
