New Music Friday – this week with Duncan Laurence, Hurricane, Benjamin Ingrosso & more!

Ten of the best new songs from Eurovision artists!

Albina – ‘Plači mila’

Earlier this year, Croatian star Albina hit the Rotterdam stage with ‘Tick-Tock‘. Although the clock stopped on her qualification, that has not stopped her releasing new music. Previously she released the follow-up single ‘La La Love‘, now Albina shares her first native language single ‘Plači mila’. A personal anthem, this song shows a raw, softer side to Albina. As she lays bare her emotions, whilst still giving us melodic electronic beats to enjoy.

The text is extremely personal, it talks about a person who is very close to me. The song is very emotional, although its rhythm may not reveal it at first, but I believe that those who live it, carefully listening to and watching the video will understand how I felt while writing it.

Viki Gabor – ‘Toxic Love’

Last year Viki Gabor released her debut album, Getaway (Into My Imagination). Now the Junior Eurovision 2019 winner is back with her latest single, ‘Toxic Love’. Together again with the ‘Superhero‘ directer, Viki explores the themes of a problematic relationship. Yet in keeping with her youthful, catchy sound as we are treated to Balkan beats. This is the second single from an as yet unnamed album to be released in 2022. Also making an appearance is TikTok star, Damian Leonarski.

Oscar Zia – ‘Nyårsvals’

Last, but not least on New Music Friday is Melodifestivalen star Oscar Zia. Although with two previous participations behind him, the ‘Human‘ singer is putting the human touch on Sweden’s selection next year. Recently SVT announced he will be hosting Melodifestivalen 2022. New Year, new start and Oscar is starting the New Year celebrations early with new single ‘Nyårsvals’, which means ‘New Year’s Waltz’. More whimsical than usual, this is a romantic anthem, counting down the year with a special someone.
