Next year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be directed by Duccio Forzano and Cristian Biondani.
An experienced pair
Forzano and Biondani come in to work on the 2022 contest with bags of experience. Forzano has directed the Sanremo Music Festival 6 times between 2010 and 2019. In addition, he also directed the music video for Raphael Gualazzi’s English version of “Madness of Love”, which competed in Eurovision 2011.
On the other hand, Cristian Biondani has directed the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Over the years, he has worked with the likes of Laura Pausini, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga on Music DVDs.
Something that both Directors have in common is that they have been, or currently are, Executive Producers of the late-night talk show Che tempo che fa. Forzano worked on the programme for 10 years, before Biondani took over the role in 2016 and is still working there ever since.
Eurovision 2022 as we know it
The Grand Final will be held in Turin’s PalaOlimpico on Saturday 14 May with Semi-Finals on 10 and 12 May.
It is believed that the hosts will be revealed after Sanremo 2022 has concluded.
Måneskin won the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with “Zitti E Buoni”, taking us to Italy for the first time since 1991.
