In an interview with ESC Insight, RAI’s Deputy Director of Events Claudio Fasulo tells that the RaiPlay won’t be geo-blocked during Sanremo 2022, allowing everyone to watch the show live from RAI’s own on-demand service.
“We had a lot of feedback when it was blocked”
In the interview Fasulo admits that RAI has received a lot of feedback, especially during Sanremo, when the service has been geo-blocked. He celebrates that this year everyone will be able to watch the festival through RaiPlay or RAI.it.
I have good news for everybody! I can tell you right now that the Sanremo Festival will not be geo-blocked. We will see it open completely on RAI Play as well as on the RAI Italia channel around the world. We had a lot of feedback when it was blocked. That was not a good choice, so no limitations on Sanremo this year. Everyone will see it on RAI Play and RAI.it.
Claudio Fasulo, Deputy Director of Events
