Sanremo 2022 contestants Mahmood & Blanco have reached the top five on the Global Top 50 on Spotify with their entry “Brividi”. The song was streamed over 3.5 million times over the past 24 hours.
Mahmood and Blanco also topped the press jury vote on the first evening of the Festival di Sanremo 2022. On the combined ranking they were on the second place after Elisa.
The duo is also gaining big numbers on YouTube. The music video for the song has over 3.3 million views as the live performance is clocking on 2.7 million views. On Spotify, the song is currently the fifth most streamed song in the world. As expected, most of the 3.5 million streams come from Italy. In Italy, the song was streamed over 3.3 million times.
Mahmood represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with “Soldi”. His 2019 entry was the most streamed Eurovision song on Spotify for a good while, before Duncan Laurence‘s “Arcade” took over the first place in January of 2021.
The winner of Festival di Sanremo 2022 will have the chance to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on the home soil in Turin. Italy will choose the winner on February 5th. The winner will be decided with a combination of the votes by the Italian public, the press jury and the demoscopic jury.
