UMK21 champions returm

Finland’s Eurovision 2021 representatives Blind Channel will open the UMK22 final with a new song. The group is set to release their new album later this year.

UMK21 winner and Finland’s Eurovision 2021 representative Blind Channel will return to the UMK stage with a new song. They will open the final of Finland’s national selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on February 26th.

The new song is said to be a love song and it is included on band’s new album, scheduled to be released in next July. In the press release the group jokingly state that the other artists should be happy that Blind Channel is not competing this year. When asked for advice for the next UMK winner, group’s guitarist Joonas Porko had only one: don’t kiss the trophy.

Last year’s UMK and Eurovision were, of course, a significant part of the snowball effect that made our career take off. UMK is a tremendous acceleration lane for artists who are 100% willing to give their all and have a crystal clear vision of their own thing. Between 2013 and 2020, Blind Channel would not have been ready for this.
