Kalush Orchestra offered the chance to represent Ukraine in Eurovision 2022

Will they bring "Stefania" to Turin?

Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC has offered Kalush Orchestra, the runner-up of their national selection 2022, a chance to represent the country in Turin. This comes after Alina Pash decided to withdraw from the contest.

Kalush Orchestra won the televote and finished third in the jury vote of Ukraine’s national selection last Saturday. They have now been offered the chance to represent Ukraine in Turin with the song “Stefania”.

Yesterday Alina Pash, who won the selection by being the favourite of the jury and the second-favourite of the televoters, decided to withdraw from the contest. The statement came after the broadcaster UA:PBC put Alina Pash’s chance to compete at Eurovision on hold as they were investigating a 2015 trip she made to Crimea. The proof that Alina provided authorities of how she entered the region was being scrutinised but it is yet to be confirmed, what is the result of this investigation.
